Introduction to linguistic principles and grammatical practices in English. Includes etymology, phonology, morphology, and syntax; application of principles of language acquisition, development, and use; examination of historical and current contexts of teaching English and connections to cultures and systems of power; and design of learning activities for diverse secondary students and others.
