WD 251 - Introduction to Pipe Welding

Corequisites: WD 140 or instructor permission.
Students will develop the skill necessary to complete acceptable groove welds in the 2, 5, and 6G positions with the SMAW process on carbon steel. Students will also be introduced to manual and mechanized thermal cutting techniques on pipe, hand beveling, joint preparation, and an introduction to pipe fitting.
