AN 475 - Bioarchaeology

Prerequisites: Junior standing.

This course focuses on bioarchaeology, the reconstruction of past human societies based on the analysis of skeletal human remains recovered from archaeological settings. The goal of the course is to gain an understanding of the methods by which bioarchaeologists are studying past human lives through skeletal remains, focusing on a contrast between traditional osteological analysis and newer microscopic and biochemical methods.
