AN 476 - The Biocultural Body

Prerequisites: Junior standing.

This course addresses the biological and cultural duality of the human body (both modern and bioarchaeological) through an anthropological perspective. By combining recent secular trends in human biology with known trends in cultural practices, activity patterns, structural violence, and more, this course has the potential to inform the health sciences and general public about microevolutionary and biocultural causes for modern ailments.
