The Theatre and Entertainment Arts Major - Bachelor of Arts degree focuses on the student and their particular needs. It combines both classroom and hands on education to create a well-rounded theatre generalist. The foundation of the curriculum is an equal mix of performance and technical theatre courses giving the student a solid launching pad in which to select their specific theatre electives. The elective requirements allow each student to build their specific education experience along with help from our dedicated faculty.

TH 360 - Theatre History I 4 Credits
TH 432 - Theatre and Entertainment Careers 1 Credits
TH 456 - Entertainment Arts Management 4 Credits
DAN 130 - The Dance Experience 4 Credits or
TH 130 - The Theatre Experience [HUME] 4 Credits
TH 361 - Theatre History II 4 Credits or
TH 260 - Dramatic Literature 4 Credits
TH 291 - Practicum I in Theatre and Entertainment Arts .5 Credits or
TH 491 - Practicum II in Theatre and Entertainment Arts 1 Credits
4 total practicum credits are required. TH 291 must be taken twice for a total of 1 credit. After that any combination of the two resulting in the remaining 3 credits.
TH 493 - Field Studies 1 Credits or
TH 492 - Internship in Theatre and Entertainment Arts 1-8 Credits or
IP 486 - Study Abroad: Special Topics 1-12 Credits

Theatre and Dance Electives 28 Credits

Complete a minimum of 28 credits from the following: TH courses, DAN courses, and SMTD 480. Courses used to satisfy major requirements may not be counted toward this requirement.

SMTD 480 - Senior Showcase 2 Credits

Foreign Language Requirement 4 Credits

Foreign Language Course 202 level or higher* 4 Credits

Notes:

* Students unable to complete the language requirement may be given the option of a Bachelor of Science degree.

This major does not require a minor.
