Return to: Programs by Academic Department/School
Graduates of NMU’s Associate of Applied Science in Cannabis Agriculture and Plant-Based Wellness are prepared for careers in the cultivation of cannabis and wellness plants, as well as roles within natural wellness and plant-based retail environments. This 60-credit program provides a comprehensive foundation in plant production systems, sustainable growing practices, pest management, environmental controls, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. Students also gain applied knowledge in wellness-focused customer service, product safety, and ethical retail practices. The curriculum integrates two preexisting stackable certificates, Cannabis Agriculture and Plant-Based Wellness, allowing students to build toward a degree while earning meaningful credentials along the way. These same certificates may also ladder into the existing CO PBW BAS degree. Designed to support both full-time and part-time learners, the program is delivered in a fully online, asynchronous format. Graduates are equipped for entry-level positions in cultivation, greenhouse and indoor growing operations, wellness retail, natural products advising, and other roles that combine plant-based wellness knowledge with practical agricultural skills.
