Art and Design K-12 Education Major

Teaching certification for K-12 art is obtained by completing a major in art and design and the professional education sequence.

Students majoring in art and design education must maintain a grade point average 3.0 or greater overall, in their major, and/or minor(s) with no grade below a “B-” in the professional education sequence and no grade below a “C” in the major and/or minor(s).

Notes:


*Students must select a studio emphasis for AD 303  Individual Art Review. Emphasis options may include Ceramics, Digital Cinema, Drawing, Electronic Art, Furniture Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Illustration, Metalsmithing, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, or Woodworking. An interdisciplinary emphasis may be selected (for example, Ceramics+Photography). Refer to the AD 303  prerequisites for additional information.

**AD 181  may not be used as an Art and Design elective.

***AD 248  and AD 302  require a grade of “B” or better.
