Art and Design BFA Major


The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Design degree is for students who wish to be fully prepared professionals in the visual arts. The program provides in-depth instruction in the techniques, theories, history, criticism, and professional practices of art and design through a high concentration of coursework in the School of Art and Design.

Notes:


* Students may substitute GR 311 /HS 311  for an Art History Elective with advisor approval.

** Students must select a studio emphasis for AD 303 : Individual Art Review. Emphasis options may include Ceramics, Digital Cinema, Drawing, Electronic Art and Animation, Furniture Design, Graphic Design, Jewelry, Industrial Design, Illustration, Metalsmithing, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, or Woodworking. An interdisciplinary emphasis may be selected (for example, Ceramics+Photography). Refer to the AD 303  prerequisites for additional information.

***  AD 181  may not be used as an Art and Design Elective credit.

**** Students may substitute MF 134 , WD 140 , and/or DD 100  with advisor approval. MF 134 , WD 140 , and/or DD 100   may not be substituted for the 300-level or above requirement.
