This program is designed to provide the student with a technical foundation with specialization in the areas of project design, building materials, construction systems and related documents.
Students majoring in building technology must have a minimum grade of “C” and a grade point average of 2.25 for all technical concentration courses.
Select CN courses may have Advanced Placement Test option based on past work experience. Please contact the program coordinator for details.

Total Credits Required 60 Credits
General Education 15 Credits
The Associate of Applied Science degree requires a minimum of 15 semester hours in the following disciplines: Required Course: - MA 115 - Precalculus [QUAR] [MATH] 4 Credits
General Education Elective Courses: The remaining 11 credits will be chosen from the following categories: Technical Concentration 27 Credits
General Electives 13 Credits**
General elective number of credits may vary, a minimum of 60 credits are required for the A.A.S. degree. Other Required Courses 4 Credits
Notes:
*EN 111 and EN 211 are encouraged, if continuing on for a baccalaureate degree. **CN 152m is required for students who wish to pursue the 60 hours of prelicensure training required to obtain a Michigan Builders License. ***MA 115 is a prerequisite to CN 254 and will also count toward the general education requirement. |
