EN 345 - The Teaching of Literature Offered Fall: No Offered Winter: Yes Offered Summer: No Offered Other: No 3 Credits Hours (Lecture - Discussion - Lab): 3-0-0 Corequisites: EN 345A Apprenticeship: Literature for 7-12 Teachers 1 credit Prerequisites: EN 304 and admission to the pre-methods phase of teacher education or with permission of instructor.
This course explores theoretical and pedagogical issues related to teaching literary texts critical literacy in secondary English classrooms. Emphasis on selecting and analyzing classic and contemporary texts that represent multiple points of view and diverse contexts. Includes clinical experience.
