Early Childhood Education is not currently accepting students. At this time, this program is only available for post-degree students.

Students with a minor in early childhood education must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or greater overall, in the major, and/or minor(s) with no grade below a “B-” in the professional education sequence and no grade below a “C” in the major and/or minor(s).

ED 292 - Early Intervention Birth to Age Eight 3 Credits
ED 293 - Family Partnerships in Early Childhood Education 4 Credits
ED 294 - Application of Theories and Practices within Early Childhood Settings 4 Credits
ED 393 - Assessment in Early Childhood Environments 4 Credits
ED 490 - Internship in Early Childhood Environments 2 Credits

Professional Education 12 Credits

ED 423A - Teaching in the Elementary School 5 Credits
ED 423E - Student Teaching in Early Childhood Environments Grades K-3 6 Credits
ED 450 - Seminar in Teaching 1 Credits

Note:

Students who elect to complete a minor in elementary education early childhood must student teach in an elementary 4-8 setting and a K-3 setting. Students complete this requirement as part of their major.
