Food, Environment and Society Minor

The Food, Environment, & Society (FES) minor is centered on the concept of sustainability. Focus is directed towards studying food and the environment from an interdisciplinary perspective. The minor is intended for students interested in the complexities of growing, processing, distributing, assessing, and consuming food. The program consists of courses analyzing the current food system across a range of disciplines, identifying some of its unsustainable practices and offering alternatives. Includes instruction in anthropology, environmental science, geography, health and nutrition, and sociology.

Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 in the FES program courses to earn this minor.
