Cannabis Agriculture Certificate

The Certificate in Cannabis Agriculture provides students with the essential knowledge and skills for successful and sustainable cannabis cultivation. Encompassing key concepts such as Integrated Pest Management (IPM), growing systems, and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), this program equips graduates with applied, industry-relevant skills. The certificate is designed to incorporate industry-accepted external licenses and certifications so graduates emerge with practical skills applicable to roles in cultivation management, quality assurance, and compliance, positioning them for immediate employment and success in the dynamic and rapidly growing cannabis agriculture sector. Within this program students gain insights into the cannabis plant life cycle, diverse cultivation techniques, and sustainable practices. Emphasis on Good Agricultural Practices promotes product quality and safety, compliance with industry standards, and effective record-keeping will be incorporated as well. The Cannabis Agriculture Certificate also naturally augments the department’s Indoor Agriculture and Controlled Environment Agriculture programs for students seeking more specialized cannabis-oriented careers.

Must achieve a “C” (2.0) or higher and a 2.25 GPA or better in technical concentration courses.

NOTE: The Cannabis Agriculture Certificate has been submitted to the accreditor and is pending HLC approval.
NOTE: This program is not eligible for financial aid.
