SL 355 - Language Development

Prerequisites: SL 150  and a “C” or better in SL 200  or instructor permission.

This course addresses normal language development from infancy to adulthood, with the primary emphasis being child language acquisition. Theories of language development and active learning for phonology, semantics, morphology, syntax, and pragmatics will occur. These language components and their biological, neurological, developmental and cultural bases will comprise course content. Development of literacy skills will be included in course discussions.
