Prerequisites: COM 110 with a “C-” or better and sophomore standing, or instructor’s permission.

Explores theories of human communication from post-positivist, interpretive, rhetorical, and critical perspectives. Readings, assignments, and discussions consider communication topics that have multifaceted dimensions, including the ways communication is shaped by and shapes power relations, manages relationships and identities, facilitates dialogue, and evolves with new media.
