COM 250 - Research Methods and Careers in Communication

Prerequisites: Completion of EN 111  with a grade of “C” or better and COM 110  with a grade of “C-” or better.

An introduction to quantitative, qualitative, and critical research within the field of Communication Studies. Topics include surveys, focus groups, content analysis, and interviews as mechanisms of data collection, and the ethics of research. Students learn to read peer-reviewed research articles in Communication Studies. Career options in the field are also considered.
