NU 211 - Foundations of Professional Nursing Practice (Theory) Offered Fall: Yes Offered Winter: Yes Offered Summer: No Offered Other: No 4 Credits Hours (Lecture - Discussion - Lab): 4-0-0 Co-requisites: NU 201 , NU 202 , NU 212 and NU 231 . Prerequisites: Admission to the nursing major.
Provides a theoretical foundation of nursing knowledge to care for the adult and geriatric population across the continuum of health. Students will be introduced to concepts of professional nursing, communication, wellness, health promotion, disease prevention, holistic nursing care, nursing informatics, evidence-based nursing practice, culture, ethics, advocacy and safety.
